Ranking Qualifications
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka E-learning platform offers several courses and programs spanning diverse disciplines. As a means of ensuring that the qualifications of aspiring students of a course or program meet the minimum registration or enrollment requirements set by the lecturers of the course or program, the school has adopted a method of scaling and ranking qualifications by means of a qualification framework.
Skills
Knowledge
Ability
Qualification frameworks define a method of classifying qualifications using a system of levels. Each level of a qualification framework is defined based on a set of common reference points, referring to learning outcomes, in areas such as knowledge, skills and abilities, regardless of the system or school where a particular qualification was acquired. A Qualification framework, in most cases, is created, agreed on and recognized by institutions throughout a region or country. This is the case of qualification frameworks such as the NQF – National Qualification Framework which is used in Europe; and SCQF - Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework used in Scotland.
Platform Qualification Levels
The qualification framework adopted by the school for use on the E-learning platform spans six (6) levels. These levels - Basic, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4 and Level 5, allows us rank students' qualifications based on certificates submitted on the platform. When a student first registers on the platform, the user is assigned the Basic qualification level. The student can submit his / her certificate details which we will verify and decide on the qualification level to place the student based on the highest certificate award submitted by the user.
Our qualification framework levels details are further explained on the table below.
