Staff Biography
Ifeoma Stella Madueme has a B. Sc. in Economics, a Post Graduate Diploma in Education, Master of Education degree (M. Ed), a Master of Science degree in Economic Development (M. Sc), Doctorate degree in Education (Ph. D Education) and another doctorate degree in Development Economics (Ph.D Economics). She also has a Basic course Certificate in Agricultural and Food Nutrition Technology. She is a Professor of Development Economics and the current Head of Department of Economics. She has also served as the Faculty representative of the Social Sciences to the Post Graduate School, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Before her employment in the University, she was the Principal of Ideal Vocational Institute, Nsukka for several years which served as a training center for unemployed youths under the National Directorate of Employment. She was also a skill trainee for Enugu State under the Better Life for Rural women program. She has published over fourty papers in both local and international journals and has authored four university textbooks including Entrepreneurship initiatives, ABC of Economics of production etc. She is a reviewer for some international journals and the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Economics and Allied research. She is a 2001 Claude Ake scholar awarded by the African American Institute, United States of America and a 2016 top ten most innovative lecturer in University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She is a recipient of the Nsukka Diocesan Merit Award for Royal Mothers. She has been serving as a member of National University Commission (NUC) Accreditation teams to various Universities in the country. She is a member of the University of Nigeria Consultancy Unit, Member, University of Nigeria Internally Generated Revenue Committee and the Chairperson, University of Nigeria General Enterprises Ltd. (UNGEL) for various years . She is a member of the Nigerian Economic Society, member of League of Researchers, an Associate fellow of AFRIHERITAGE, Nigeria, Board member of Center for Entrepreneurship and Creativity, Awka, Anambra State of Nigeria, Director, Evergreen Foundation Nsukka, Director, Center for Contemporary Economics and Allied Research, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Ifeoma Stella Madueme played a major role to the realization and success of the UNN elearning platform. As a Consultant to the UNN elearning project, she worked tirelessly in the development of the enterprenuership course contents and also yielded her expertise during the recording of the hands-on video media included in most of the courses.
