My home town is Mgbowo in Awgu Local Government of Enugu State, Nigeria, where I was born in 1960. My primary and secondary education was at Town School, Mgbowo and Boys’ Secondary School, Mgbowo respectively. After my secondary education in 1981, I proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where I obtained Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1986. From the same university, I obtained Postgraduate Diploma in Education in 1990, Master of Arts in English as a Second Language (ESL) in 1991 and Doctor of Philosophy in English in 2019. My teaching career at the University of Nigeria started in 2008 when I was employed to teach at the School of General Studies and the Department of English and Literary Studies. I have since risen to the rank of Senior Lecturer.
